The President of Ghana Christian University College (GCUC), Dr. Manuel B. Adjei said that there is a crisis of integrity in the country, seen in the fact that role models are scarce.
He made this remark on Saturday at Amrahia, Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region, during the school’s 5th matriculation ceremony.
He said “cheating, plagiarism, stealing, lying, backbiting and all kinds of vices should not be mentioned among us. This should be a community of people in love relationship”.
Dr. Adjei noted that the current leadership must exhibit transformational life style to maintain its integrity.
“This is the time when transformational leaders must combine forces for subjecting all to Christ”.
Meanwhile, the Vice President of the college, Dr. Nelson Ahlijah has appealed to the Ministry of Education to give the University its share of the Ghana Educational Trust Fund (GETFund) as they all contribute to the fund.
But the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Isaac Nii Djanmah Vanderpuye who represented the regional minster, Mr. Julius Debrah said the Private and Tertiary schools must write their proposals to the GETfund for its support.
He noted that students must cultivate the habit of reading to enrich their knowledge and broaden their horizon.
Nii Djanmah urged the students to humble themselves and refrain from practicing vices such as cybercrime, cutting corners to get rich quick, examination malpractices and the use of drugs.
