Ghanaian footballer Fatau Mohammed has been hospitalised in Spain after collapsing during a league match in the country’s second tier.
The midfielder, who plays for CD San ??Roque, collapsed during Sunday’s league match Sunday against San Fernando before he was rushed to the hospital.
Doctors of the two teams at the match spent frantic minutes on the pitch to revive him before he was sent to the hospital.
Mohammed is said to be in a stable condition at the Infanta Elena de Huelva hospital, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
CD San ??Roque insiders have told Ghana’s leading football news website that the midfielder suffered a throat infection last week and played the game with a fever.
The footballer was revived with the help of the medical team of San Roque and San Fernando on field before being referred to the hospital for intensive care.
He is likely to remain in hospital for the rest of the week while treatment and tests will be carried out on him to ensure that he is safe.
