Ghana midfielder Michael Essien is among Real Madrid players selected to play in Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Galatasaray.

The enforcer is part of the 21 players selected by coach Jose Mourinho that traveled for the second-leg game to be played in Istanbul.

Essien was left out of Real Madrid’s league match over the weekend as Mourinho rested some of his key players ahead of the match against Galatasaray.

But he is expected to return to action for Real as they to consolidate their advantage from the first leg of the clash between the two sides.

Real won the first leg 3-0 in Madrid with Essien excelling in the match, drawing praise for the Ghanaian.

Essien was among the Spanish club’s key players during the first leg as he was played at the right-back position.

He was put at the position to blunt the attack of Galatasaray who normally start their attack from the right wing position.

Real Madrid’s 21-man squad is as follows: Casillas, Diego López, Adan, Jesús, Varane, Pepe, Coentrão, Marcelo, Arbeloa, Albiol, Nacho, Khedira, Essien, Modric, Callejon, Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mesut Özil , Benzema, Higuain, Morata.
