Ellen Maama Hagan
Ellen Maama Hagan, the multi award winning CEO of L’Aine Service Ltd has won the Vlisco be Your Dream Award after a campaign that ran through the month of March in celebration of women and achievements. Mrs Hagan, has been an inspiration to women all around Africa, with her determination to live up her dream by opening what is now Ghana’s leading human resource organization and taking up the role of an employer of about 3.000 members of staff.
She picked up the award which also makes her the brand ambassador for Vlisco in Ghana, at a festive award ceremony and fashion show at the State Banquet Hall on Saturday night. She won based on public votes that saw her competing against 4 other women-achievers namely Shirley Frimpong Manso, Abena Amoah, Constance Swaniker and Mawuena Trebarh . All 5 finalists were presented with prizes on the night, as well as opportunity for Vlisco to fund or support any charity of their individual choice.

The Vlisco Women’s Month Be Your Dream campaign which ran across West and Central Africa also gave imaginative female creative fashion professionals (tailors, designers, stylists) the opportunity to enter their business plan for the Vlisco Fashion Dream Fund, and win the funding to realize it. After over 150 entries Ghanaian designers Kyerewa Atakorah (April Rust) and Sheila Garbrah (She By Bena) won first and third place respectively in the regional contest. They also picked up their respective cheques of 10,000 and 5,000 US Dollars at the ceremony.
