As the President of Ghana his Excellency John Dramani Mahama declared today 7th of March 2013 as a day for all Christians to pray for the Nation, it was significantly observed in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo district as all churches in the area prayed for the Nation for everlasting peace and prosperity in the Ghana under Mahama Administration.
This reporter visited almost all the Churches in the district capital and every pastor charged members to pray for the Nation.
Reverend Dorcas Iddi, who is the second pastor of the Calvary Assemblies of God church in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District from the Northern region, said members of the entire Assemblies of God are very glad that, God has blessed a child/member from the Assemblies of God church to be the president of this noble country.
This alone must attract all of us a members of the Assemblies of God Church to pray more seriously for the Nation, Madam Dorcas added.
Before the start of prayers, Madam Dorcas called on the DCE for the area Hon. Philip Laari who is also a member of the Calvary Assemblies of God in Bunkpurugu to stand up and represent the President for the Church to pray for him and for that matter the Nation Ghana.
Pastor Dorcas in her words of prayer expressed that, God is going to promote Ghana abundantly under the leadership of President Mahama.
She noted that, President John Mahama would continue to be protected and guided by God almighty and no demon can overcome him in his administration, including all Ministers, DCEs, and MPs.
Reverend Dorcas asked the congregation to read from Chronicle 7:14-16 and assured the DCE that, God has a strong interest in the lives/welfare of the people of Ghana especially in President John Mahama’s Administration.
She called on the entire church to pray for peaceful coexistence, adding that, if there is no peace in Ghana no one can have time to worship God.
Pastor Dorcas declared that, Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District would never encounter any conflict again, these are the words of God , she pointed.
Reverend Dorcas Iddi however called on the President through the DCE to remember the people of the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District in his administration.
The moral of the Two Assemblies of God churches was very high as many got to know that, the President was a member of their church (Assemblies of God).
