Sunyani, April 5, GNA – Some residents in Sunyani said it is unfortunate the municipality has continued to lag behind in development despite its creation 54 years ago.
They expressed the concern in a random interview with the GNA in Sunyani to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the creation of the region on Thursday.
Most of the people interviewed are petty traders, market women, taxi drivers as well as shops and filling station attendants.
They noted with concern that the demand for basic social amenities such as toilet was still high in some parts of the municipality as residents had to walk long distances to form queues before attending to the nature’s call.
The residents said the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital has no airport, sports stadium and other recreational centers.
They expressed regret that the only Children’s Park in the municipality constructed years ago had not seen any major rehabilitation work and was in a dilapidated condition while works on the Center for National Culture edifice had also become standstill.
