Accra, April 3, GNA – Global Network for Bare Facts (GNFBF), a pro NDC group, has urged government not to reinstate Mr Bright Kofi Kukubor as the Divisional Manager in-charge of Manpower and Training of the Electricity Company of Ghana.
A press statement issued to Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, said Mr Kukubor while in office was alleged to have committed dubious acts which contributed to the current power crises that confronts the country.
It said Mr Kukubor was in one instance strangely selected by Management of ECG to attend a two weeks programme in Canada which was meant for another Senior Staff.
The statement said in the process he deceptively applied for three weeks instead of two and was given all per diem and entitlements but rather traveled to London at the expense of the official trip to Canada.
It said Mr Kukubor forged a certificate to serve as an evidence of his trip to Canada for the course which brought doubts and concern among the Management of the company.
The statement said the matter was later investigated and upon interrogation he admitted to his dubious act which led to his dismissal.
It said Mr Kukubor was alleged to have manipulated junior engineers in relation to load shedding and black-outs especially in Accra and Tema which created problems within the Company adding that ‘clearly, such a saboteur of the government shouldn’t be reinstated’.
The statement urged ECG and all stakeholders not to consider restoring Mr Kukubor to his former position, since it would not be in the interest of the nation and would also derail the President’s quest for a Better Ghana.
‘The reinstatement of Mr Kukubor is likely to cause a nationwide demonstration by the staff of the Company’, the statement said. GNA
