Accra, April 5, GNA – The prices of most locally manufactured wax prints continue to be stable as there has not been any increment since April 2012, Ghana News Agency market survey on Friday revealed.
GNA observed during a visit to some markets in the Accra Metropolis that the price of GTP is still GHâ‚µ45.00 for a half piece of “Nustyle” whilst “Super Print” was selling at GHâ‚µ65.00 for half piece.
“Vlisco” cloth, which is Hollandaise, is selling at GHâ‚µ150.00 for half piece while “High Target,” sells at GHâ‚µ24.00 for half piece.
Ms Margret Dadzie, a shop owner at Rawlings Park, told the GNA that prices of the prints had remained stable even during the Easter festivities which normally create condition for price hikes.
‘There have been speculations about possible increment in the prices of GTP since March…but looking at the economic condition now any increment will affect our sells,’ Ms Dadzie saidd.
Ms Forzia Helwani, a shop attendant at Makola, said saless had been good as the price stability has injected confidence in trading.
At dressing accessories shop at Rawlings Park/Makola, GNA observed that one could get ear rings, beads, bangles, wrist watches, chains and others for as low as GHâ‚µ5.00 to as high as GHâ‚µ300.00 depending on the brand or the quality.
Ms Evelyn Naa Tioko, a sales attendant at Mannequin Boutique, said prices of wedding shoes ranged from GHâ‚µ50 to as high as GHâ‚µ150 while hand bags in other shops visited ranged from GHâ‚µ30.00 to as high as GHâ‚µ200.00 also depending on the size and the quality.
Wedding purses were selling at GHâ‚µ30.00 and above while a dozen of ladies panties were also sold for GHâ‚µ30.00 depending on the quality.
