Kwabeng (ER), April 5, GNA – Mr Kwasi Amoako-Attah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Atiwa West, has donated some items to the Atiwa District Directorates of Health Services and Education at Kwabeng.
The items include 12 fridges, 20 computers, printers and 5 KVA generators all valued at GH¢ 100,000.
Presenting the items, the MP said the time had come for sons and daughters of the area support their communities and the vulnerable in society.
He said the items were purchased from his share of education and health fund and was touched by a request the two institutions made some while ago and decided to support them.
Mr Amoako-Attah appealed to authorities of the various health institutions within the district to treat patients with dignity and all the respect they deserve.
He said everything should be done to make the health facilities patient-friendly, to give confidence to the people and encourage them to seek their services.
He said since he became MP he had used his little resources to support the area with the provision of school blocks for some communities, construction of a modern delivery block for Kwabeng health centre, out-patient department for Nyirasi hospital amongst others.
Mr Amoako-Attah appealed to the authorities of the two institutions to ensure the judicious use of the items.
Receiving the items, the Atiwa District Health Director, Mr Tei Djangmah, expressed gratitude to the MP and described the donation as very timely.
He said in spite of the continuous support from the MP, the hospital still needed more to facilitate its administrative activities.
Mr Djangmah said notwithstanding the numerous challenges facing the hospital, quality health service was being rendered to the people.
Dr Kofi Annan, the Medical Superintendent of the Nyirasi Government Hospital, thanked the MP for the gesture and promised to use the items to improve upon health delivery service in the district.
The District Chief Executive for Atiwa, Mr Attah-Twum, commended the MP for his support to the district and attributed it to the cordial relationship between the two of them although they belong to different political parties.
He promised that they would continue to work in unity in the interest of the district in order to promote the development agenda of the district. GNA
