JSM Bejaia defender Zidane Mebarakou has praised Kotoko for the warm reception but insists they will eliminate the Ghanaians from the CAF Champions League in their reverse fixture on Sunday.

The two teams will clash at the Baba Yara stadium for the second time in two weeks with an eye for the next stage of the continent’s elite inter-club competition top of the agenda.

The Algerian side arrived in Ghana on Wednesday and has since been given first-class treatment in the country’s second-largest city of Kumasi.

The North African side who ill-treated their Ghanaian counterpart during the first leg clash are surprised with the warm reception accorded them by their host.

‘We arrived in Ghana after 16 hours before the extra fours to this nice hotel,” Mebarakou told 90 Minutes newspaper

“This accommodation is satisfactory. Fortunately it will allow us to recover from the trip at least before the match day. Thank You (Kotoko) for the hospitality.”

“After a tiring journey, we will our focus on recovery and fitness. That said, we must remember to focus fully on our game.

“We have a difficult task ahead of us on Sunday and we must show a strong desire to achieve result.”

Kotoko have been boosted after they walloped second-tier Agbozome Weavers 4-1 on Wednesday to advance to the round of 16 in the Ghana MTN FA Cup.
