Greater Accra chiefs appeal to Minister for facilities

Accra, April 5, GNA – The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs have called on the Regional Minister, Mr Julius Debrah, to provide them with the necessary facilities to harness development in the region.

The chiefs made the call on Thursday when the newly appointed Minister paid a courtesy call on them in the Dangme West District.

Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III President of the Regional House of Chiefs asked the Minister to make available a modern office complex for the chiefs to befit the status of the region.

He also appealed to the Minister to push for the tarring of the two-kilometer road that leads to their office.

Nene Kabu Akuaku III also pleaded with the Minister to equip the Guggisberg Memorial Hall with air conditioners whiles they awaited the construction of the new house of chiefs complex.

He said a modern lobby should be constructed for Niimei and Nenemei since the present facilities could not contain the large membership.

Mr Julius Debrah thanked the chiefs for the honour showed him and pledged his full support to the entire house assuring them of his commitment.

The Regional Minister, however, pleaded with the chiefs to ensure peace, unity and litigation free in their various towns for development.

He told them to see each other as partners and helped solve chieftaincy disputes in the municipalities and added that he would rely on them to move the region forward.

He advised them also to collectively collaborate with the local government in pursuing developmental projects that would move the country at a faster pace.

Mr Debrah later presented GH¢1000 and a box of schnapps to the Regional House of Chiefs.
