Ghana U20 winger Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi has made a quick return to Maritzburg United to avoid a club fine, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 18-year-old left Ghana on Thursday night – just a day after returning with the Black Satellites from the 2013 African Championships where Ghana won silver.
Sarfo-Gyamfi arrived in South Africa early Friday morning to beat the deadline set by coach Ernst Middendorp.
The Ghanaian youngster was facing a hefty fine and a threat of not being released for future national assignments that are not covered by the FIFA regulations on player release.
The ex Wa All Stars player has however avoided these punishments with his early return from the African Youth Championships.
