Exstep Production based in Kumasi has grabbed a whopping $200,000 dollars following the sale of the foreign right of its movies ‘Nsoromma’ part 1, 2 &3 and ‘Enyi Me Mma’ released last year to a production house in the United Kingdom.
The agreement for the sale of the foreign rights of the two movies was signed between the Chief Executive Officer (C.EO.) of Exstep Production, Samuel Kwadwo Fosu and Nana Obeng Mensah II, C.E.O. of SKY Productions based in the U.K at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra last week.
‘Nsoromma’ which came out last week and been distributed by Karimodey Ventures in Kumasi and by Kwame B. A. in Accra is among the three top movies leading seals on the movie market.
The movie featured crème de la crème in the local movie industry including Emelia Brobbey, Akrobeto, Kwaku Manu, Kwadwo Nkansah (Lil Wyne) and Mebusem among others.
Samuel Kwadwo Fosu in an interview with Modernghana.com said he is very happy with the agreement signed.
“This is a major breakthrough for Exstep Production; $200,000 is not small money. I am very happy Sky Productions have seen a good thing in these two movies. They will reproduced and sell them in Europe, Ghanaians in Europe love our movies so I know it is going sell like a hot cake. It was not easy but to God be the glory they accepted to work with the production house,” Mr. Fosu noted.
On music production, Mr. Fosu said his outfit is now concentrating on movie production because people do not buy CDs and it is very difficult to break even.
