Accra, April 1, GNA – Many holiday makers on Monday, gathered at the La Beach Resort, to partner love ones to mark this year Easter celebration in Accra.
A visit to the beach by Ghana News Agency (GNA) at mid-day, revealed a long queue of anxious holiday makers waiting for tickets to enter the resort to have fun.
The resort was also filled with people drinking, swimming or dancing to music.
The presence of security personnel made it simple for beach guards to control the teaming crowd.
An official who spoke to GNA under the condition of anonymity said, ‘We always request for security personnel assistance on occasions of this nature to protect lives and property.’
Ms Ayishetu Seidu, a holiday maker from Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, noted that the celebration was joyful and expressed satisfaction at the presence of the security personnel at the beach.
‘We are safe from phone and bag snatchers,’ she said.
Mr Yakubu Amadu of Madina, a suburb of Accra in the Greater Region said: ‘I am here with my family to have fun, today is my free day and I decided to go out with my family to the beach although I don’t celebrate Easter.’
One of the side attraction at the beach was horse riding, which attracted a fee of GH¢5.00 for a 100- metre ride and Mr Rass Gee, a Guitarist from Nandon in the Upper West Region who entertained the crowd for an offer.
