Accra, April 1, GNA – Gospel Light International Church, Darkuman District in collaboration with Restore Smile Foundation, on Monday donated items worth GHȼ10,000 to the Frafraha Foster Home, in Accra.
The items include toiletries, stationery, bags of rice, fruit drinks, fruits, football jerseys and footballs.
Apostle Nana Yiadom-Boakye, Pastor in Charge of the Darkuman District of the church, said the donation was the third since its inception in 2011, but this year’s event had been repackaged to include a funfair with children at the home.
He said as a church the activity formed part of their corporate social responsibility and it was for the children to have the privilege of meeting new people and interacting with them.
‘As part of this year’s Easter celebration, we as a church found it important to celebrate with these children to make them feel part of society’, he said.
Apostle Yiadom-Boakye said the event seeks to create an imperative model for ending loneliness and homelessness to orphans and foster children in order for them to build a brighter future and become active in today’s life.
He thanked members of the church for coming to celebrate the Easter with the less privileged, and prayed that the children would become prominent people in the society.
Madam Henrietta Asare-Agyeman, Supervisor of the home, expressed appreciation to the Church and the Foundation for the immense support they had given to the home over the past three years.
She said the children would forever be grateful to them and that they were always happy when organisations or people come to support them.
Madam Asare-Agyeman called on other corporate entities as well as religious organisations to also support the home in order to create comfort for the children.
