Ghana’s U-17 team suffered a 3-2 defeat to Sampdoria’s first team in a pre-African Junior Championship friendly on Thursday.
Oti Essigba and Yakubu Mohammed scored for the Black Starlets in the match played in Sampdoria.
Sampdoria went into the game with the initial intention of keeping it’s first team players fit for the weekend’s game only to be surprised by the mesmerising skills of the young Ghanaians.
Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s boys could possess the ball for well over three minutes during the game but were undone by their relative inexperience.
The Black Starlets beat Swiss second-tier side FC Gossau 10-0.
The team have been preparing in Novara since last Thursday.
