Bibiani (W/R), April 2, GNA – A Bibiani Circuit Court presided over by Justice Emmanuel Ankamah, has remanded in prison custody a 40-year old farmer caught with large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis at Sefwi-Nsawora.

The plea of Cosmos Afi alias ‘Kwadwo Afi’ was not taken and he would re-appear on April 24.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Raymond Kofi Erzuah told the court that the arrest of the accused followed a tip off.

The police had received information that Afi had concealed large quantity of dried leaves believed to be cannabis in a kiosk at Sefwi-Nsawora and quickly moved in to seize the substance.

The prosecution said the accused admitted ownership and mentioned one Kofi Tawiah as the supplier.

He could, however, not assist the Police to apprehend the said Tawiah.
