BANGUI (AFP) – Benin is willing to grant asylum to ousted president Francois Bozize of the Central African Republic, Foreign Minister Nassirou Bako-Arifari said Thursday in Bangui.

“Benin was asked (by central African heads of state) and if the president (Bozize) officially makes a request, Benin will follow up on the request” of members of the Economic Community of Central African States, the minister told AFP.
