It is with great joy that we received news of the nomination of Hon. Joseph Yammin as Deputy Minister designate for the Youth and Sports Ministry.
We are full of praise and thanks for the President, His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama for recognizing the significant and monumental contribution of the Ashanti region to the success story of the N.D.C and accordingly, assigning one of our own a huge role in his quest to advance the better Ghana agenda.
We congratulate Hon. Yammin for his appointment and also assure him of our unwavering support as he embarks on this sacred journey of service to mother Ghana.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports is one of the strategic ministries tasked, amongst other things, with a responsibility to initiate and implement policies and programmes aimed at promoting sports and youth development and, at a time that, this nation has been saddled with a conundrum of youth employment, we have a absolutely no doubt in our minds that, you will bring your huge experience and expertise to bear on policy formulation and co-ordination.
And, being a team player and a goal – getter, we know you will effectively complement the efforts of the substantive minister, Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankra, in finding lasting solutions to this national scourge.
We are a bit sad that you are leaving the confines of the Ashanti region. but we take solace in the fact that you have been offered yet another opportunity to serve this nation in a much larger capacity, and we sincerely hope that we find a carbon-copy of you to continue from where you left as Regional Secretary of our great party.
As we feverishly look forward to your vetting and subsequent approval by parliament, we, young N.D.C communicators in the Ashanti region, say thank you for the dedicated service you rendered to the Ashanti Region; thank you for the communal spirit you instilled in us; and thank you for the feat you helped us achieve in the region. We pray that God Almighty guide your steps on your new job. All the best Sir.
