As the Black Satellites marched on to a failed attempt to clinch the Africa Youth Championship the 2009 batch won in Rwanda, the Ghana U-20 side were playing without receiving their match bonuses in Algeria, footy-Ghana.com understands.

According to footy-Ghana.com sources, the Ghana Football Association together with the Sports Ministry failed to provide the Satellites team their agreed winning bonuses for the tournament. We can confirm that the whole contingent received their per diems due them and have no backlog of arrears to be settled.

Unlike their seniors the Black Stars, the U-20 side were promised a qualification bonus of $7,500 from the group stage and a $3,500 bonus per a win at the semis and the grand finale.
