Neequaye for USBA lightweight April 5

Boxing News of Wednesday, 3 April 2013 Source: graphic.com US-based Ghanaian boxer, Samuel Kotey Neequaye, is scheduled to battle Peruvian Jonathan Maicelo for the vacant United States Boxing Association (USBA) Lightweight title in California, US, on April 5.Kotey Neequaye, a product of the Attoh-Quarshie Boxing Club, who featured for Ghana at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, said he was both physically and mentally prepared for his opponent.His manager, Stephen Darko, told Daily Graphic in a telephone interview that the agile boxer was in good spirit to annex the vacant title.Mr Darko said the boxer’s success in the bout would position him for bigger fights in the coming years.Meanwhile, the trainer of the Ghanaian boxer, Zeke Thompson, says Kotey Neequaye will deliver on the day, adding that ‘the boxer is in great shape.”
