Chievo Verona midfielder Isaac Cofie is disappointed with their narrow defeat to AC Milan last weekend.

Striker Mario Balotteli scored the only goal of the match in the 1-0 win to ensure they took a huge step towards securing Champions League football next year.

The 21-year-old who played a part in the defeat regrets the outcome of the crucial tie.

“We did a great performance,” says Cofie without hesitation, “but we have to accept the verdict,” Cofie said

“I just regret because it is true that before we had a great Milan, but it is also true that we tried until the end to take up the game.

“Even when we were ten we stopped believing. That’s what happened. Patience. We look forward. We tried. And if we continue to work so we can travel with confidence on our way to arrive as soon as possible to salvation.”

Cofie has made 19 appearances for the club and scored two goals.
