Ghana will play France in their Group A opener

Ghana will face France in their opening 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup Group A match on 21 June. 

The match will be played at the  Ali Sami Yen Arena in Istanbul after the tournament’s opening match between Cuba and Korea Republic from Group B in Kayseri.

The Black Satellites  will then face European champions Spain three days later at the same venue in Istanbul.

The final Group match will be against the USA on 27 June in Kayseri.

Ghana qualified to the World Cup in Turkey by finishing as one of the best four teams at the African tournament in Algeria which had eight countries competing.

They were beaten 5-2 on penalties in the final match to Egypt after an extra-time 1-1 scoreline.

Ghana last played at the tournament in Egypt 2009 where they emerged winners under current coach Sellas Tetteh.

The 2013 FIFA Under-20 World Cup will run from 21 June to 13 July in Turkey.
