Ghana’s U20 team returned home to a hero’s welcome at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Wednesday night from the African Youth Championship.
Over 1,000 supporters came to meet the team who came alongside with a silver medal-losing 5-4 on penalties to Egypt in the final last Saturday.
The Sports Minister and officials of the Ghana Football Association were at the airport to congratulate them for their sterling performance in Algeria.
The Black Satellites played through to the final without their winning bonuses paid but the government has promised each player of quick payment.
Sellas Tetteh and his technical team must now prepare the team for the 2013 FIFA World U20 Cup in Turkey where they have been drawn with France, Spain and USA.
