Ghanaians Asked To Desist From Greediness And Selfishness

The priest in charge of Saint John’s the Divine Anglican Church in Winneba, Venerable Ebenezer Love Annan, has called on Ghanaians to desist from greediness, selfishness and be truthful at all time.

He said it was only when “we eschew these factors and reconcile as people that we can forge ahead towards the development of the country”.

Venerable Annan made the call at a Church service to mark the Easter festivities in Winneba on Good Friday.

He recalled that Judas betrayed Jesus because he was not satisfied with all that Christ gave to them and hoped that Christians would learn from what happened to him (Judas) afterwards.

He emphasized the need for mankind to let the suffering of Jesus Christ and his death on the cross, have a meaningful impact on their daily lives, adding that he had “redeemed us from our iniquities”.

According to him, Easter signifies transformation, adding that the occasion had been celebrated every year but still people continued to live in environment of evil doings.

Venerable Annan, therefore, appealed to Ghanaians irrespective of their religion, culture and political affiliations to see themselves as one people with a common destiny.

He called on them to be steadfast in the Lord who makes all things possible.

Prayers were said for continuous peace and tranquility in the country.
