The Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyinah, has scolded government for attempting to package a fully sponsored trip to Israel, for 200 selected pastors, supposedly to pray for the nation.

According to spiritual elder who chairs the Pentecostal Church of Ghana, the omnipresent nature of God, makes it accessible for Ghanaians to talk to their maker at anytime without going through the hassle of catching a flight to Jerusalem to talk to him.

In an attempt to reemphasize his point, he told organizers of the event that “travelling to Jerusalem isn’t part of Christianity and one would only go there to broaden his knowledge in history”.

He noted that such trips were beneficial to persons who are willing to broaden their knowledge on historic events.

“God has come to reside in every living being and you can locate Him at every corner you find yourself…Just as the telephone can be used to call people in UK, Australia and America, you can talk to God anywhere you are,” he said.

Dr. Opoku Onyinah, also took a direct swipe at the media, especially the Daily Guide for publishing “lies” on how the NDC government sponsored a similar event and doled out $1000 to each pilgrim.

He posited that such publications are developed from lies; it makes it harder for people to decipher the truth, when they listen to or read the piece.

According to him, he is yet to come across a pastor who embarked on the earlier trip and received monies from government.

“The publication was unnecessary and it is part of the reason I find it hard to believe what I hear on the radio and read from the newspapers. Certain people deliberately publish the lies and it makes it hard to find the truth. I have read the publication of the paper (Daily Guide) and I am yet to see the said men of God who traveled outside and received $1000 from the government…Daily Guide published total lies,” he emphatically said.
