Sam Pee Yalley has severely criticized individuals who have taken a swipe at President Mahama for reshuffling his regional ministers, emphasizing that such a lawful move cannot have any negative effect on Ghana’s economy.

Mr. Yalley, who is Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority, noted that the president did a comprehensive analysis before reaching this decision which some stakeholders have criticized.

“I don’t see anything wrong with this, because it doesn’t cause the country any financial loss, it doesn’t cause any administrative problem to anybody,” he categorically said.

Mr. Raymond Atuguba, Executive Secretary to the President in a statement said that the reshuffle was necessitated by the president’s aim to have Regional Ministers focus mainly on the political and technical coordination of the development efforts of MMDAs.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Newsfile, Sam Pee Yalley took a pilfer at individuals lamenting over President Mahama’s decision to reshuffle his regional ministers, saying their wailing wouldn’t solve the problem nor change the president’s mind on the matter.

“Yes, we give the president the right to become president, but we also give him the right to do what he wants to do,” he ardently said.

He elaborated further that the right to appoint ministers is vested solely in the president and he could decide to do that in consultation with the Council of State if he wished to.

According to him, President Mahama has absolute right to decide which region he wants a particular minister to work.

He again argued that if parliament had taken time off to test each Regional Ministers’ competence and approved them to work for the nation, then he believes that they have what it takes to work in any part of the country.

“If you have been to a Training College and you have been appointed a teacher, would you say that you hail from Asanfokuman and therefore will not go and serve there?” he asked
