Veteran Nollywood actor, Justus Esiri, who passed away in February this year, has been nominated for the Africa Movie Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the movie, ‘Assassin’s Practice’.  In ‘Assassin’s Practice’, he plays the role of a failed stock investor, who hires an assassin to stage his suicide, so his wife and daughter would live off his life insurance; only to discover that the Assassin is a delusional psychopath who will not spare anyone and now he must do everything to reverse the tide of events.
The late actor will be competing for AMAA glory against OC Ukeje (Alan Poza),  Bimbo Manuel (Hereos and Zereos),  Lindani Nkosi (Zama Zama), Hlomla Dandala (The Contract),  Femi Jacobs (The Meeting), and  Amurin Wumnembom (Ninah’s Dowry).
Justus Esiri was famous for his role as the Village Headmaster in popular 80′s sitcom of the same name and  has featured in several Nollywood movies. He was the father of Mavin artist, Dr Sid.
