Rtu Captain Mohammed Concedes Relegation

Hassan Mohammed says RTU cannot escape relegation

Real Tamale United captain Hassan Mohammed feels their adventure in the Ghana Premier League has come to an end.

The pride of the north are firmly rooted at the bottom of the table with a paltry five points from 17 games.

The abysmal performance of the Tamale-based side has been largely attributed to their financial situation and an eight-match home ban imposed by the Ghana FA after irate supporters attacked Medeama players during their Premier League clash at the Tamale sports stadium last year.

The former Hearts of Oak right-back does not see the way out for the side.

“I am sad that after helping the team back to the elite division of Ghana football which was not easy, we are going back to relegation with most  of the players already giving up their hopes in the chances of the team staying up in the league,” Mohammed told Bolgatanga-based GBC Ura Radio Sports.

“As the skipper of the side I am highly disappointed.

He revealed: “The problem of this team is about the management system with no motivations for the playing body, but rather unfulfilled promises ever since the team came back to the Premier League.

He added: “Until management changes their attitudes of not motivating players, the team will always find itself in such situation. From the look of our form I do not personally see the possibility of us surviving relegation this season.”

RTU will tackle Asante Kotoko in their next encounter at the Obuasi Len Clay stadium.
