Dr Michael Addo Agyekum, a Managing member of the KAMA group of Companies has stated that organizations of high repute throughout the world at one time or the other had to engage in innovation for survival.

The innovations, he said, could be successfully carried out through creation of awareness with the use of the brain and identification of opportunities that could give ample survival options to the organization in question.

Dr Agyekum stated this during a day’s Innovation conference organized by Zoomlion Ghana Limited for its staff across the country on the theme: “Fostering Innovation for success in the 21st century” in Accra.

The workshop was attended by Metropolitan, Municipal and District Operations Supervisors, Managers and other collaborators throughout the country.

Topics such as Innovation, the ultimate survival tool, and Thinking outside the box as a survival tool were also treated to equip the participants with managerial skills that could spur them on to give up their best on the field.

Dr Agyekum said the world was challenged by natural disasters and economic crises, and it was only innovations through the use of the brain that could salvage the situation, particularly the developing countries that were hit hardest.

He said the use of Information and Communication Technology were creating a high rate of unemployment in the world and it was only innovation that could maintain the survival of companies and families.

He suggested that, innovation should move faster than the industrial revolution to avert looming disasters that could result from unemployment and abject poverty.

Mrs Florence Larbi, Managing Director of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, appealed to the participants to practice whatever they learnt from the conference in order to increase their output and increase the fortunes of Zoomlion to employ many others in the coming years.

“Make sure that you take the lessons here seriously to empower you to work towards the advancement of Zoomlion Ghana and everywhere in the world,” she concluded.
