Tamale Hospital equipment damaged due to erratic power supply





Erratic power supply in the Tamale metropolis of the Northern Region, is causing destruction to equipment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

Several machines including the oxygen plant and the electric power generator of the hospital, have been seriously damaged due to the irregular power supply.

Speaking at the annual review meeting on Wednesday, Chief Executive Officer for the TTH, Dr. Kenneth Sagoe said the facility which is one of the critical installations in the country, must not be made to surfer irregular power supply.

According to Dr. Sagoe, the situation is seriously impacting negatively on their operations.

“In the course of last year, there were three significant occurrences; the phases of the electrical connections were changed outside this hospital…We lost equipment in ICU…the big oxygen plant was damaged completely,” he recounted.

He said the Hospital had been put under extreme pressure to raise funds for the repair of these broken down equipment due to the power crisis.
