Beloved, nothing works in the kingdom of God outside of prayer. It takes prayer to move the hand of God. Prayer is a principal instrument you must use to secure your destiny. Your ability to pray based on the word of God will determine your level of success. Where there is prayer there is miracle.
Prayer is a spiritual force and only becomes real when it is based on the word of God. It is what will bring you into the realm of dominion. Therefore, it is vital to find out how it operates in connection with your believe.
You can change your world by the power of prayer; the reality of the matter is that there is a great joy as you adventure with God in His word. God intends to teach and transform you and I, for His word is living, empowering, healing, restoring, enlightening and directing.
“Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children” Isaiah 66:8
Theologically, this verse of scripture is referring to the rebirth of Israel as a nation. The Prophet Isaiah prophesied that, Israel will be reborn as a nation however it was not going to be an easy task. It was not going to happen within a day perhaps, it was going to happen on condition of a price. The Prophet related the cost involved to that of travailing.
In other words, Zion will travail before bringing forth her children. He painted a picture of a woman having a baby. Beloved, remember that it takes a mother to give birth to a child. The child does not birth itself. It takes travailing in order to give birth to a natural baby. It is an intense suffering that demands effort. It involves hard work and a lot of effort. “All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” Proverbs 14:23
Labor is the gateway to your delivery. Every mother knows the meaning of the word labor. Do you know what that word conception means? It means to create or become pregnant with. You can create your world by the power of prayer. There are different stages you go through as you give birth to God’s plans for your life. The first stage is called development. Beloved, you can develop your life and destiny by reason of prayer. Every plan of God has the Potential to grow.
If your plans and vision are in line with the word of God, you will succeed. When a woman conceives, creation takes place and an embryo is formed and begins to grow. As you pray concerning your life, ministry, business, spiritual life and your finances they will eventually grow. Another benefit of prayer is increase and expansion. As you continue to develop in the birthing process, do you know what happens?
Ask any mother they know exactly what I’m talking about. The womb begins to expand. Enlargement is very important and necessary if you are to give birth to your dream. God will begin to enlarge you because the embryo which is the word of God will require room to grow and develop.
As you act on the word of God concerning your life and ministry, concerning your business it will expand beyond your comfort zone, beyond every limitations and boundaries. The final stage to spiritual birthing process is to travail.
“For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.” Ecclesiastes 5:3
The word multitude from Ecclesiastes 5:3 mean great and the Hebrew definition for the word business means travail or difficulty. The time of travail or labor of a mother in giving birth parallels or similar to that of spiritual travail that is necessary to complete the spiritual birthing process. Travail is the most intense, most energy requiring part of the entire birthing process. It is a lot of hard work. There is a good reason why it is called labor. Spiritual travail or labor is not an easy experience.
Travail may be short or extended due to a lot of factors. Some prayers will be accomplished quickly and some will be like labor pains at different times until the birth of the answer comes. We can never judge what is happening in the spirit by what we see in the natural.
This is also true of travail. The scripture uses a physical phenomenon-childbirth to describe a spiritual happening or truth. In doing so, the scriptural emphasis is not on the physical realm but the spiritual. And the comparison is not meant to be literal or exact.
In other words, the Holy Spirit is not trying to describe what is happening physically but rather spiritually when He uses the word travail. It is not natural birth but a spiritual one. Meaning to say: Travail is the work of the Holy Spirit. Travail may or may not include weeping or groaning. Travail is an essential part of intercession for the lost. Travail aids in the maturing process of believers.
