Ogun PDP expels Obasanjo’s loyalists

ABEOKUTA—PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, yesterday, expelled loyalists of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo including the party’s governorship candidate in the last general elections, Gen. Adetunji Olurin (rtd), the National Auditor of the party, Senator Bode Mustapha and the factional Chairman of the party, Dipo Odujinrin from  the party.

A statement by the State Publicity Secretary,Waliu Oladipupo, in Abeokuta,  said Olurin from Yewa South Local Government  had been expelled  from  the party, while  Mustapha and Odujinrin  from Odeda Local Government and Remo North Local Government respectively, had equally been expelled.

According to the party, the factional State Secretary  Dapo Adeyemi and  Yahaya Ahmed from Ifo Local Government and Ado/Odo Ota Local Government respectively were suspended for six years in accordance with Section 58 58 (1) b, f, j, k and I of the party’s constitution, saying, “their expulsion is in line with Section 58 (1) b, f, j, k and I of the party’s constitution.

“The five former members had been suspended for one month as a result of their anti-party activities on 3rd of November, 2012. However, they failed to appear before the disciplinary committee set up to defend the charges against them within the 30 days stipulated by the party’s constitution.

“The PDP hierarchy at all levels and the general public should, please, take note.
