
Accra, 2nd February 2013 –The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) headline sponsor of the senior national football team, today commended the senior national football team, Black Stars, for their spirited display of sportsmanship with a 2- 0 win over the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde at the ongoing AFCON tournament in South Africa.
“Your unwavering determination to conquer Africa for the fifth time was demonstrated with this victory over the Blue Sharks to stamp your authority over the game and lift high the flag of Ghana”, the Chief Executive of GNPC, Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye, said.

“As we join the rest of the country to celebrate this victory, we at GNPC are optimistic that the burning desire to recapture the cup, which has eluded us as a nation for 31 years, will spur the team on to bring the trophy home to Ghana.
