Bolgatanga, Jan. 31, GNA – Two youth groups in the Kassena-Nankana Districts have extended congratulatory messages to President John Dramani Mahama for his successful election and inauguration as President of the Republic of Ghana.
The two groups, the Mirigu Youngters’ Club (MYC) in the Kassena-Nankana West and the Amalgamated Youth of Kassena-Nankana East (AYOKNE) in separate statements commended the President for appointing two of their members, Mr Joseph Donkor Issachar and Dr. Raymond Akongburo Atuguba as the Administrator-General of the Presidential Estates Unit and Executive Secretary to the President respectively.
According to the MYC ‘We the members of this club are so ecstatic that the President found these persons among us competent to support his pursuit to building a better Ghana for us all.’
While the AYOKNE said ‘the youth groups of Manyoro, Natugnia, Nabango, Kandiga, Yua, Sirigu and Mirigu among other communities in the eastern corridor of the Kassena-Nankana area see your victory as a victory for the youth and will do anything humanly possible under the sky to support your tenure to bring development to the people of our area and Ghana as a whole’
The statements signed separately by the leaderships of the two groups, Messrs Joseph Azuntaaba, chairman, and Oscar Aboninga, organizing secretary for the MYC as well as Mr Timothy Atoah and Mr Mathew Abagna representing the Mirigu and Sirigu Traditional Area respectively stated ‘We have admired your leadership skills and capabilities over the years and we have no doubt that the appointed time has come for you to lead a united Ghana in an all-inclusive government.’
The groups prayed for the President and said ‘it is our candid wish that God will grant you a positive and achievable vision, good health, the blessings of long life, wisdom, protection and successes to take our beloved country to the Promised Land’.
The groups stated ‘We wish to use this opportunity to also congratulate all presidential candidates in the 2012 elections for playing such enormous roles in enriching our democratic credentials across the globe. They should not loose courage for victory comes but once and through hard work’.
They appealed to all parties who were in one way or the other aggrieved as result of the elections to consider the plight of the many innocent Ghanaians who may in the process of demonstrating get involved in unwanted incidents which may cause the country dearly. They should therefore choose the appropriate forum to resolve these impasses.
‘We also wish to salute the Ghanaian population for taking the initiative they took in voting for issues, personalities and their beliefs in political parties and not on tribal grounds. May God guide us through under the stewardship of President John Dramani Mahama’, they added.
