NAGRAT suspends intended strike until...

A new working group has been put in place to help resolve the grievances of teachers and to prevent the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) from embarking on strike.

The group which consists of representatives from NAGRAT, Ghana National Association of Teachers, (GNAT) Fair Wages and Salaries Commission was put together by the Chief of Staff, Mr. Prosper Douglas Kweku Banil to look into irregularities in the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure.

NAGRAT threatened to embark on strike after its members complained of being shortchanged in the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure.

But the group met with the Chief of Staff on Tuesday to find an amicable solution to the problem.

Vice President of NAGRAT Angel Karbornu told Joy News they are hoping the working group will be able to resolve their grievances.

According to him, the group has six weeks within which to address the challenges after which the Association will a decision on the next line of action.
