Kwesi Appiah says his side were tactically disciplined
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has praised his players for their improved tactical discipline in Thursday’s 1-0 win over Mali at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Appiah lamented his side’s momentary loss of concentration after their Group B opener against DR Congo where they surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2.
Mubarak Wakaso converted a 38th minute penalty and that brightened their chances of making it to the knock-out stage.
“Tactically, the team was much disciplined and there was no loss of concentration during the game,” Appiah said in a post match press conference.
“I will say that we have still got much to offer and can do much much better than what they did today.
“We just hope that we keep going and we will see more of them.”
Ghana will be in action on Monday evening against Niger in the final Group B match in Port Elizabeth.
