Claude Le Roy Port Elizabeth, Jan. 20, GNA – Democratic Republic of Congo Coach, Claude Le Roy claims his side’s two all drawn game with Ghana in a Group B opener at the Africa Cup of Nations is a perfect testimony of the quality of the continent’s football.

Ghana threw away a two- goal lead to tie the game with Le Roy’s chargers, and the former trainer for the Black Stars in 2008 claims there was no better way to stage a show for African football.

“This was a very beautiful game with so much quality all over the place. It is just the big beautiful image of African football. Just that advertisement the continent’s football had to show the world”.

Le Roy, leading the Leopards to the biannual gathering for the second time said ‘”Ghana is a very good team and we knew they will be very tough. Their (Ghana) quality is very good and Coach Kwesi Appiah has done a great job.

“My knowledge of the Ghana team did not make any difference because it is a completely new team. When they took the lead, my boys had to work hard because we knew their quality.

“In the end, I am very proud of this team because they fought very hard for this point and I hope the entire country begin to support the team as much.”

Ghana will next play Mali on Thursday while DR Congo engage Niger.
