Tamale Youth Promises Peace But…

The youth of Tamale have decided to maintain peace in Tamale and wait for President Mahama to ‘complete with his ministerial appointments’.

This decision follows an appeal from Haruna Iddrisu, Caretaker Minister for Communication for the youth in Tamale to stop vandalising properties belonging to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The youth, operating under the name, ‘New Avenue Youth’ in Tamale are agitating that Haruna Iddrisu, MP for Tamale South be given a position in the current Mahama administration. They don’t understand why after a second release of ministerial appointments, Haruna Iddrisu has not been given any position yet and so resulted in vandalism.

The group thinks President Mahama is not being fair to Mr. Iddrisu especially since they think the Tamale MP did tremendously well as the Communication Minister.

Speaking on Citi Prime News, Haruna Iddrisu disassociated himself from the actions of the group and advised them to allow the President to do their work.

Speaking in an interview on Citi FM’s Eye Witness news, Mr. Abdallah Musah, Chairman of the New Avenue Youth said they understand what their MP is saying and are going to abide by it.

However, he said if President John Dramani Mahama still pays deaf ears to their request, ‘we will go on hunger strike’.
