CHAIRMAN of Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Emma Nwaka, has debunked rumours making the round in the state that former governor of the state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has returned to the party.
Nwaka, who spoke yesterday in Umuahia, also denied that Kalu had been re-registered by his Igbere Ward A in Bende Local council of the state. He said though PDP executives of Kalu’s Igbere Wards A and B headed by Mr. Chika Emeri and Amaechi Ukoh resigned recently and handed over their wards membership registers to the party, Kalu’s name was not contained in the register.
Rumour had it that ex-governor’s new registration card number issued him after his re-registration at his ward last week is 9787945.
Debunking the rumour, PDP Chairman of Bende local council, Mr. Ihendu Eke, said PDP registration card serial number was currently below 95 as against the 9787945 card number purportedly issued to Kalu.
According to him, the ex-governor may have been re-registered by fake officials with fake register.
