Adebayor delays Togo’s arrival for AFCON

Adebayor-4TOGO could not travel to South Africa on Tuesday for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Togo Football Federation has not explained why the Hawks were not able to touch down in Johannesburg.

Captain Emmanuel Adebayor, who left London to Accra on Sunday, has not joined his teammates.

Also, first choice goalkeeper Kossi Agassa, who was in action for Reims in the French Ligue 1, was expected in Lome yesterday.

Thomas Dossevi has been added to the squad in case of injury. The entire contingent was expected to leave yesterday.

The contingent received the blessing of Prime Minister Arthème Ahoomey-Zunu on Monday. Togo’s tournament opener will be against Ivory Coast on January 22.
