110-man contingent will represent Lagos State at the forthcoming 5th National Schools Sports Festival holding in Port Harcourt, Rivers Statee between January 24 and February 3.
Head coach of Lagos State Sports Council, Kally Agogo, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday that the team of 90 athletes and 20 officials were in high spirits to win at the festival.
The competition, organised by the National Schools Sports Federation, will be sponsored by the Rivers State Government.
Agogo said the state would participate in nine sports – athletics, boxing, gymnastics, judo, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, wrestling and weightlifting.
He said the contingent had intensified their training in the last two weeks, adding that he was confident they would finish tops among the 20 states that would feature at the Games.
