Adomah ready to aid Ghana's AFCON title campaign

Bristol City winger Albert Adomah says he is ‘honoured’ to play for Ghana at this month’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Adomah was selected by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah after an impressive first half season in the English second-tier league.

The 25-year-old will be making his debut after coming close to playing the 2012 tournament in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Adomah says he is determined to make his presence count at the tournament and not make up the numbers.

“I feel honoured that this is happening right now. I’m speechless, if I’m going to be honest,” Adomah said.

“It is tough to compete with such great players all the time and that is why when a chance like this comes along you feel humbled by it all.

“I am a winger and my job is to create and make sure the balls go in for goals to be scored,” he added.

“I can score but when I do it’s a bonus! My job is to create so I don’t put pressure on myself.”
