A policeman accused of shooting dead a Boksburg man has been released on bail, according to reports on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

SABC radio news and Eyewitness news identified him as Raymond le Roux, who appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on a charge of murder.<\/p>\n

He reportedly said he killed Rean Ramdin, 29, by accident after he was arrested during a raid at Presley’s nightclub in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg, for drug possession at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Le Roux said Ramdin escaped from the police van and that he fired nine warning shots. The last bullet accidentally hit Ramdin in this chest.<\/p>\n

He was released on R2000 bail and was due to appear in court again on April 17. – Sapa<\/p>\n
