title=\"JOB\" href=\"http:\/\/joblistghana.com\">JOB<\/a> DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Accountant will be responsible for keeping and maintaining proper books of accounts for the preparation of year-end, statutory and group reporting accounts to give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company.<\/p>\n<p>He\/She will report to the Financial Controller.<\/p>\n<p>The position is based in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keeps proper books of accounts on all financial transactions of the company<\/li>\n<li>Classifies and assigns correct codes to transactions to ensure accurate postings for generating accurate financial reports or statements<\/li>\n<li>Supervises the processing of suppliers\u2019 invoices and effects payments, preparation of debt & credit notes, and payroll journals<\/li>\n<li>Manages bank accounts and other treasury functions<\/li>\n<li>Carries out accounts reconciliation for all relevant accounts<\/li>\n<li>Prepares monthly financial, management and group reports.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares budgets and monthly budgetary control reports<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for supervising the maintenance of the fixed assets register<\/li>\n<li>Acts as IS\/IT liaison and manages all matter relating to software<\/li>\n<li>Ensures the full implementation of the QMS procedures related to accounts and communicates proposed changes to the Financial Controller<\/li>\n<li>Maintains contact with external organizations such as banks for transfer payments, reconciliations etc,<\/li>\n<li>Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a professionally qualified accountant<\/li>\n<li>A minimum of 5 years post qualification hand-on relevant working experience<\/li>\n<li>Must be computer literate with a very good working knowledge of excel and group reporting packages<\/li>\n<li>Must be conversant with at least one accounting software<\/li>\n<li>An experience with audit is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements<\/li>\n<li>Good knowledge in sound accounting practices and ability to detect computer fraud<\/li>\n<li>Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and with minimum
