Ghana is unlikely to meet the 2015 deadline for the elimination of the worst forms of child labour if the implementation of the national action plan on the problem is not given a better attention.<\/p>\n

At the launch of Employers and workers handbook on hazardous child labour, the regional employer\u2019s specialist of the International Labour organization (ILO) for Addis Ababa emphasized the need to implement the strategies outlined in the national action plan to facilitate the eradication of the worst forms of child labour.<\/p>\n

The handbook is expected to guide employers and workers at large, to jointly combat harmful child labour in key sectors like agriculture, construction and mining.<\/p>\n

This project is a collaboration between the International Labour Organization, Ghana employers association and the Ghana Trade Union (TUC) Congress.<\/p>\n

The two local stakeholders, GEA and TUC-Ghana signed a bipartite declaration to reaffirm their commitment to the elimination of child labour.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
