An unidentified leader of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged members of the party to adequately arm themselves for a gathering at the Independence Square Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The call, according to a video recording of a street protest by members of the party close to the residence of Nana Akuffo Addo at Nima chanced upon by Joy News, was made in protest of the party\u2019s defeat at last Friday\u2019s elections.<\/p>\n

According to video, two speakers addressing the agitated and charged crowd said they had a message from the \u201cnext President of Ghana His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo.\u201d<\/p>\n

The message, one of the speakers said, was to urged the party\u2019s faithful to assemble at the Independence Square today at 8 am for a special meeting or event and they are going to their party headquarters to hold a meeting.<\/p>\n

According to the male speaker, Nana Akuffo Addo and party leaders are urging them to attend the event which amongst other things is for the future of their children\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

They should attend the all important gathering because if they keep mute, thieves will rule them and businesses will collapse.<\/p>\n

A second speaker, whose name was not clear, said former President Kufuor will be there around 8 am so supporters should do well to be there around 6:30 am.<\/p>\n

According to the speaker, the NPP will not accept the verdict of the elections which states John Dramani Mahama as winner of the polls.<\/p>\n

He said, they will let Ghanaians know that they will not accept the stolen verdict and those who want to help President Mahama to steal, God will deal with them.<\/p>\n

He urged member to wear party apparels with red arm and that they will not sit down for someone to intimidate them. The speaker alleged that they know that Yaw Boateng Gyan\u2019s (NDC\u2019s National Organizer) people will come there so if they try anything, they will retaliate.<\/p>\n

According to him, they are peaceful but if Yaw Boateng Gyan\u2019s people try anything, they will not sit ideal.<\/p>\n

He noted that, although they don\u2019t have licenses to use certain \u201cthings\u201d [arms], there are some \u201cthings\u201d like catapults, which they do not need licenses for and woe betides anyone who wants to come interrupt their event, he added.<\/p>\n
