Jubilation by two friends at Agona Nyakrom over the victory of President John Mahama in the presidential election turned into tragedy when one stabbed his friend to death.<\/p>\n
Kobina Ishimaila, an 18-year-old labourer, and Kofi Ofori were making merry when Ofori stabbed Ishimaila to death.<\/p>\n
Deputy Superintendent of Police Joseph Ackah, the Agona Nyakrom District Police Commander, explained that after the announcement of the presidential result, misunderstanding arose between the suspect, who was drank, and the deceased.<\/p>\n
He said the suspect ran to his nearby house, picked a knife and stabbed the deceased on the chest and died on his way to Agona Swedru Government Hospital.<\/p>\n
The suspected has been placed in police custody pending police investigations.<\/p>\n
The District Police Commander warned supporters of political parties to desist from taking excessive alcohol to prevent them from committing crimes.<\/p>\n
DSP Ackah said the police would deal with anybody who would take the law into his or her hands and added that with the election over what is needed is for the people to come together as one people to push the nation forward.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
