Managing Director of Aero Contractors Capt. Akin George has resigned. George has served Aero for 24 years in various capacities.<\/p>\n
\nDeputy Managing Director Obaro Ibru replaced George as acting Managing Director.<\/p>\n
A statement from Aero said George resigned following \u201ccertain restructuring exercise\u201d initiated by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) with the support of the board of Aero.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the beginning of a restructuring exercise that will make the airline slimmer and stronger with the aim of making it more competitive,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
The statement quoted chairman of the airline Mr. Funsho Kupolokun as saying \u201cthe board accepts the resignation of Capt. George and appreciates the services he has rendered to this airline over the last two decades. We wish him the best in his future endeavour.\u201d<\/p>\n
