Prime Minister Hisham Qandil is to leave for Algeria on Monday, the Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Maghreb and Libya affairs said on Friday 19/10/2012.
The visit will be the first by an Egyptian official of this level to Algeria since the January 25 revolution in 2011, Ambassador Yusif al-Sharqawi added.
During the two-day visit Qandil will lead a ministerial delegation of the ministries of foreign affairs, petroleum, electricity, housing and international cooperation as well as a host of businessmen, Sharqawi added.
The visit acquires a special importance in view of the deeply-rooted relations and common interests binding the two countries.
